Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs? We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Taunton. You will be working in a school that caters to children with learning difficulties, autism, Down's syndrome, and ADHD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties, autism, Down's syndrome, and ADHD.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Help students with daily tasks and activities, promoting independence and confidence.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support student engagement and progress.
- Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with learning difficulties, autism, Down's syndrome, and ADHD.
- Strong understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to support them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).
